At Capital Cranfield, we believe we offer a unique, specialist independent trustee service. This belief is based upon our total independence and extensive experience, and backed up by our efficient systems.

Our key persons are senior, experienced pension professionals. Individually they have qualifications in a wide range of pension-related professions. This enables each individual to serve their clients in a professional manner, while drawing support from the collective expertise of the team as a whole.

Given the seriousness of a scheme closure to its members, we are very sensitive to costs, including our own, and consistently monitor our systems and processes to ensure that they remain cost-effective.

It is our firm belief that a major role of trustees is ensuring good quality communication with members. At the beginning of a closure, we issue a comprehensive "Q&A" document to minimise unnecessary communication, with the cost savings passed on to the scheme. Then, where appropriate, we can establish scheme-specific websites, email accounts and dedicated phone lines, thereby ensuring communication remains efficient throughout the scheme closure.

To facilitate the smooth closure, where size warrants, we will normally establish a "consultative committee". This will be made up of representatives across the entire scheme, thereby helping us to meet the needs of the scheme’s potentially diverse spectrum of members.
