SIMON BAYNES
Simon has worked with Capital Cranfield Trustees since 2009. After graduating with first class honours, Simon enjoyed many successful years in business including extensive responsibility for pension schemes in 14 countries. He has been a trustee for 15 years and chairman of trustees for 10 years. Simon represents Capital Cranfield on notable DB, DC and hybrid schemes with assets ranging from £62m to £1.3bn. He chairs the investment committees on several schemes.
Well know within the pensions' world, Simon's trustee expertise includes scheme restructuring, major fund transitions and a large scheme wind up.
He brings practical solutions to complex problems. His record for rigour and pragmatic good governance led to his appointment to the Investment Management Association's Investment Governance Group for DC. He is also a member of the National Audit Office's panel of pensions' experts.
Simon writes regularly for Pensions Week.
As well as being a Charity Trustee and a Member of the General Synod, Simon has also served on the Crown Nominations Commission.
