ROBERT MATTHEWS

Robert has worked with Capital Cranfield Trustees since 2008. Robert represents Capital Cranfield as chairman of trustees and as a trustee board member to schemes - several with household names - ranging in asset size from approximately £650m to £15m.

Robert is a senior and experienced trustee and investment professional, having held director level positions at F&C Asset Management plc, ISIS Asset Management plc and RSA Investments. As an investment professional knowledgeable of all aspects of the investment function - including equity and bond analysis, pension fund management and institutional fund management - Robert has extensive experience of working both as a trustee and an investment manager with companies and trustee boards in the management of their pension funds.

Robert was educated at Cardiff University, where he gained a BSc (Econ), and the London Business School. He is a Fellow of the CFA Society of the UK and was, for almost 20 years, a member of the Board of the CFA Society and for nearly 13 years the Chairman of the CFA Society's Examination and Education Committee. As such he was responsible for introducing and developing the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), the UK's benchmark qualification in fund management.
