Since 1992 we have offered high standards of truly independent trusteeship at reasonable cost; we carefully guard those principles. Capital Cranfield’s client directors – who are also its shareholders – take the long term view and have no interest in profit maximisation nor in achieving any particular rate of corporate growth. Our insistence on retaining those founding principles as the cornerstone of our operations, means we deliver certainty, confidence and client satisfaction. Each of our client directors has a strong track record in trusteeship and holds relevant investment, legal, actuarial, accounting or general business skills enabling the best possible fit with differing client needs. Once in post, each of our client directors must meet our exacting governance requirements. Nonetheless, we recognise that any right answer to trustee problems must take account of each client’s particular circumstances.
Capital Cranfield Trustees offer independent pension trustee services to ongoing UK pension schemes and - through a specialist Nottingham centre - to pension schemes in wind-up. We operate in Scotland as Scottish Pension Trustees.

Our approach
At Capital Cranfield we believe that an independent trustee should be fully engaged with the other trustees and should not work in isolation. We seek to be involved in all issues that affect the scheme, aim to offer objective guidance and ensure compliance with best practice.
We also believe that a pension scheme must not become disconnected from the sponsoring business, especially as pension liabilities can form such an important part of the corporate balance sheet. Our independence helps protect the interests of the members but we always have regard to the practicalities of the business world.
At Capital Cranfield, our style is non-confrontational; we prefer to be practical rather than dogmatic. We remain sensitive to a scheme's chemistry and culture, which has often been evolving long before our appointment.
